Before we get stuck in to this great recipe we would like to remind you that treats should only make up a maximum of 10% of the daily diet and fresh water should always be available. Dogs and puppies should be supervised at all times when enjoying treat or chews. It is also VERY IMPORTANT to not feed your put any type of artificial sweetener. More advice on this and the dangers of sweetener can be found here.
And even if you love the look of the recipe but just can’t find the time to cook them we have a great stock of all natural treats and chews here.
1 tablespoon psyllium husks OR 1 tablespoon chia seeds for texture (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C)
Add oats to the bowl of a food processor.
Leave the machine to run for 2 – 3 minutes until oats are almost flour consistency with a few big pieces left.
Then add pumpkin purée, apple purée, psyllium husks or chia seeds and eggs, mix to combine until the dough looks uniform. If very wet add more oats but don’t let it become too dry.
Scoop with a small cookie scoop and drop on a parchment (or Silpat)-lined sheet pan.
Flatten with a fork dipped in flour.
Bake for around 16 – 18 minutes, rotating halfway through.
Cool completely before giving it to your dog to eat.
