Christmas isn’t only exciting for us humans but imagine the magical world of fun your pets see when you put up your Christmas Tree. This article takes a look at some of the steps you can take to pet proof your tree this Christmas.
Secure your Christmas tree to the wall or ceiling to keep from toppling over
Place your tree away from furniture if you have a climber who might use the furniture as a ‘leaping point’
Use a gate like a Christmas tree fence around the tree so your pet has to keep their distance. There are some decorative gates that won’t make it look ugly especially if you add your own holiday touches to it. And it can help keep your Christmas presents safe too.
Don’t hang fragile or glass decorations at all or if you must hang them higher up in the tree.
Do not hang chocolate decorations at all, if these fall off they could be toxic to your pets.
Hide electrical cords.
It is great to have a fresh-looking Christmas tree but please don’t place any chemicals in the water if a fresh tree.
Most of all have a very happy and enjoyable Christmas.
